A round trip covers both legs: out from Antigua on your chosen date, and back from El Paredón on the day you pick — the same stops in both directions. The return seats are booked at the same time as the outbound ones, so there is nothing to arrange once you are on the beach.
If your plans change, both legs follow the same cancellation policy: cancel more than 48 hours before a departure and that leg is refunded in full. The shuttle leaves Antigua at 09:00 and 14:00, and El Paredón at 09:00 and 15:00, every day of the week.
Your choice of the 09:00 or 14:00 departure from central Antigua, arriving in El Paredón about two hours later.

On your return date, leave El Paredón at 09:00 or 15:00 and arrive at Café la Parada in central Antigua.

The shuttle runs to a fixed timetable and the van cannot wait for latecomers. A few things worth knowing before you choose a departure.

Everything travellers ask us before booking the Antigua–El Paredón shuttle — times, pick-up points, luggage, payment and cancellations.
The shuttle leaves Antigua for El Paredón at 09:00 and 14:00, and El Paredón for Antigua at 09:00 and 15:00, every day of the week — including weekends and public holidays. The journey takes about two hours. When you book, you choose the date and the exact departure time.
A one-way seat is $25 per person, and a round trip (out and back) is $45 per person. Both include the seat, the pick-up at the point you chose, one suitcase and one carry-on, and a comfort stop on the way. Prices are in US dollars and are paid online by card — there is nothing to pay the driver. Food and drinks on the road are not included.
About two hours in normal traffic: down past Escuintla, then along the coast road through Sipacate to El Paredón. The Escuintla highway is busy, especially on Friday afternoons and long weekends, so allow a margin if you have a connection afterwards, and never book a tight onward flight. The shuttle makes one comfort stop.
In Antigua you choose between four central points: Café la Parada, Parque Sofía Castro, Tanque de la Unión and Hotel Cacique Real. Leaving El Paredón, between Café de la Abuela, Super 24, Japi Mini Market and La Pecerita. Drop-off is at a single point on each side: Super 24 in the centre of El Paredón, Café la Parada in Antigua. This is a shuttle with set stops, not a door-to-door taxi — hotel drop-off in the El Paredón beach area can be requested in the booking message, and is confirmed with the operator. Be at your stop ten minutes early: the van cannot wait.
Every traveller has room for one suitcase and one carry-on. Surfboards, extra bags and bulky equipment fit most of the time, but the space is confirmed with the shuttle — note it in the message box when you book and we will answer before departure. Do not simply turn up with a board bag.
Cancel more than 48 hours before a departure and that leg is refunded in full. Within 48 hours, we keep 10% and refund the rest. Under 12 hours or a no-show, nothing is refunded — the seat is already reserved and paid to the operator. If we cancel a departure (weather, road closure), you are refunded in full or moved to another departure, your choice. To cancel, reply to your confirmation email.
A round trip is two seats: out from Antigua on your chosen date (09:00 or 14:00) and back from El Paredón on the day you pick (09:00 or 15:00). The return does not have to be on a fixed day — you choose it when booking, and you can change it later free of charge up to 48 hours before the return. Both legs use the same stops and follow the same cancellation rules.
Antigua is about an hour from La Aurora airport (GUA) and from Guatemala City, by shuttle or private transfer. Our shuttle leaves Antigua, not the airport. If your flight lands in the afternoon, sleep in Antigua and take the 09:00 departure the next morning — or, if you land early enough, aim for the 14:00. We do not run airport pick-ups.
Every traveller occupies a seat, including small children, so the price is per seat whatever the age. If you are travelling with a child who needs a child seat, or with a baby, write to us before booking and we will check what the shuttle can provide. We would rather answer a question than leave a family stranded at a stop.
The booking form takes up to ten seats per booking — enough for most groups. For more than ten travellers, or for a private van with your own departure time, email us with your dates and we will come back with a quote. Private vans run on the same route with the same operators.
